New teeth in a day
The All ON X method is an innovative treatment concept that allows edentulous patients or those with a determined need for removal of all teeth in an arch to obtain new, permanent teeth in just one day without bone grafting. These new teeth look and function like natural dentition.
For patients without teeth or with severely damaged teeth, until recently, the only option to restore proper chewing function and aesthetics was treatment with removable acrylic dentures, which left much to be desired in terms of oral retention.
These dentures, relying on the gum, can lead to further bone loss and damage to the mucous membrane, and in a significant number of patients, exacerbate the feeling of a foreign body and problems during eating and speaking.
In contrast to removable dentures, full reconstruction of all teeth on implants remains securely in place, looks natural, and allows one to feel confident during eating, speaking, or smiling.
- Possibility to restore all teeth and gums using 4 or 6 implants
- Shortened procedure time
- New dentition is “anchored” on the day of the procedure
- No need for additional regenerative procedures
- Time and cost savings compared to methods requiring bone grafting
If you are missing all or most of your teeth and would like to replace your current removable denture with a permanently fixed solution, here is the procedure you can expect:
STEP 1: Examination and Planning
During this visit, the patient’s health status and expectations are assessed. A dental examination, photographic documentation, and CBCT 3D imaging are performed. Intraoral scans or impressions are also taken.
STEP 2: Surgical Procedure and Temporary Restoration
Implants are inserted during the procedure. At STOMATOLOGIA Szewczyk, to ensure the comfort of patients who may be anxious about surgical procedures and dental treatment, intravenous sedation is available. On the same day, a temporary restoration is placed, allowing for immediate use of the new smile after implantation.
STEP 3: Impression Taking and Final Bridge Fabrication
Once the gums and bone have healed, and the implants are fully integrated, the final bridge is fabricated.
- Speech Disorders and Difficulty Adjusting to the New Bridge:
To achieve the desired aesthetic effect, not only missing teeth but also bone and gum tissue are supplemented.
As a result, the part of the bridge that contacts the gums will be bulkier than the original bone and soft tissues it replaced. Because during sound formation, the tongue touches the hard palate and incisors, this can affect speech sounds such as “D,” “T,” and “N.” Similarly, the shape of the posterior part of the bridge can affect the sound “S,” where the edges of the tongue expand during sound production, which in turn can result in unclear speech.
Implant-supported bridges must have sufficient weight to maintain adequate strength. This weight varies depending on the materials used to create the bridge but is always greater than with natural dentition.
- Disturbances in deep sensation
The periodontal receptors present around teeth (in the periodontium) allow teeth to sense even slight pressure forces. A dental implant lacks a periodontium. Therefore, the perception associated with a dental implant is similar to that of a tooth under local anesthesia. Consequently, there may be difficulty recognizing premature or excessive occlusal contacts. Excessive biting forces may generate due to the lack of feedback. Patients with All on X prosthetic restorations in both arches are more prone to excessive biting than patients with their own teeth, which may result in bridge fractures, artificial tooth fractures, or bone loss around implants.
Within a few days/weeks, patients adapt to their “new teeth,” although sometimes it takes a bit longer. However, everything depends on the individual predispositions of the patient. No two recovery processes are the same.
- Proper care of the ALL ON X bridge is essential.
Until the first check-up and removal of stitches, the oral cavity should be rinsed with special cleansing solutions that prevent plaque and tartar formation. Teeth should be cleaned with a soft toothbrush, avoiding the implantation site. After stitch removal, special brushes and tools should be obtained to facilitate hygiene. It is recommended to use a toothbrush with an angled neck to reach areas that are difficult to reach with a regular toothbrush. Using dental floss and interdental brushes is necessary to properly clean the space between the bridge and the gums. Using an irrigator is also highly recommended. Teeth and spaces should be cleaned at least twice a day.
In addition to daily dental care, regular visits to the hygienist are necessary, who will remove and thoroughly clean the patient’s construction and tissues. Such professional, paid implant hygiene should take place every 6 months. This will ensure that the new teeth serve for many years and prevent infections around the implants.
- Post-operative check-up / stitch removal – 10 – 14 days after the procedure
- Post-operative check-up / implantological check-up + hygiene – 2 months after the procedure
- Post-operative check-up / implantological check-up + hygiene – 4 months after the procedure
- Prosthetic visits related to the fabrication of a new, proper bridge on implants – 6 months after the procedure
-
- Impression-taking at the level of implants
- Trial smile check-up / titanium substructure check-up
- Delivery of the final bridge on implants
-
5. Paid follow-up visits: implantological check-up + hygiene every 6 months after the delivery of the “final” bridge on implants
The cost of treatment using the ALL ON X method in the NEODENT system (NeoArch) starts from 25,000 PLN, and in the STRAUMANN system (ProArch) from 30,000 PLN.
